Job summary

Aldwych Consulting is seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial team on a major infrastructure project in Kent. This senior role requires proven NEC expertise, strong leadership, and a track record of delivering value on large civils schemes.

You will drive cost control, reporting and commercial governance while mentoring junior QS professionals and coordinating with client and subcontractor teams to achieve project objectives.

Qualifications

• Significant NEC experience.
• Experience managing commercial teams.
• Strong track record on major infrastructure projects.
• Excellent commercial and contractual knowledge.
• Experience managing change, risk and commercial reporting.
• Strong subcontract procurement and negotiation experience.
• The ability to operate at both project and strategic level.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the commercial team.
• Oversee the commercial performance of the project.
• Manage cost reporting, forecasting and CVRs.
• Review commercial risks and opportunities.
• Lead subcontract procurement and commercial negotiations.
• Manage change, variations and compensation events.
• Ensure effective cost control and commercial governance.
• Support project strategy and delivery from a commercial perspective.
• Manage client and subcontractor relationships.
• Review and challenge commercial performance across the project.
• Mentor and develop Quantity Surveyors and Senior Quantity Surveyors.
