Job summary

Aldwych Consulting invites applications for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to work on a major, long-term infrastructure programme in Kent. The role offers exposure to a skilled commercial team and a path to develop a career in construction cost management.

You will assist with applications for payment, cost reporting and change management, while developing strong Excel and Office skills within a busy contracting environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in contracting/commercial environment.
• Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
• Experience in civil engineering or infrastructure sectors.
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Willingness to learn and progress within a commercial team.

Responsibilities

• Support applications for payment.
• Assist with cost reporting, forecasting and CVRs.
• Support management of change and variations.
• Assist with subcontract procurement and administration.
• Monitor project costs and financial performance.
• Assist with commercial reporting and cost-to-complete reviews.
• Support identification and management of commercial risk.
• Maintain accurate commercial records.
• Work closely with operational and commercial teams.
• Assist with subcontractor payments and accounts.
