Job summary

Primer API Limited is seeking a Senior ML Engineer to lead the creation of ML-powered features in payments infrastructure. You will work with engineering, data, and product teams to design, implement, and monitor ML models in production, shaping foundations for ML at Primer.

You will collaborate on routing decisions, build ML infra, and mentor peers while driving impact-first experimentation in a remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• Senior-level production ML experience with deployments (API/batch/streaming).
• Ability to design & run experiments and interpret results.
• Hands-on with Python and ML libraries (scikit-learn, XGBoost, TF/PyTorch/Keras).
• Strong grounding in software engineering, data tooling, and MLOps.
• Familiarity with reinforcement learning concepts and their practical use.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end lifecycle of ML-powered features from research to production monitoring.
• Productionise ML routing decisions and build supporting ML infra (versioning, CI/CD, observability).
• Collaborate with product, data, and engineering to ship measurable outcomes.
• Mentor engineers on ML techniques and tradeoffs.
• Engage with customers to validate ideas against real usage.
• Help set technical direction and prioritise use cases.
• Establish repeatable ML patterns and practices at Primer.
