Job summary

ASOS is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join the Search & Recommendations team. You will design, build and operate production ML systems powering search, ranking and personalised experiences for millions of customers worldwide.

You will collaborate with Applied Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, Software Engineers and Product Managers to deploy scalable ML solutions and continuously improve our systems and practices.

Qualifications

• Experience applying ML and deep learning in production environments.
• Experience with deep learning frameworks and distributed computing for large models.
• Experience with distributed training, GPU-based environments and parallelisation.
• Strong software engineering practices, life cycles and MLOps.
• Proven ability to build reliable, scalable ML systems in production.
• Ability to mentor engineers and provide technical leadership.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration across engineering, science and product teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate production ML systems at scale.
• Collaborate with Applied Scientists and Engineers to deploy ML solutions with measurable value.
• Build and maintain batch and real‑time ML models in production.
• Contribute to recommendation, ranking and personalization capabilities.
• Improve systems, codebase and engineering practices; propose new features.
• Mentor engineers and share knowledge across the team.
• Help evolve ML standards and ways of working across the org.
