Job summary

Just Eat Takeaway.com is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join a cross-functional team focused on growing our product algorithmic recommendations. You’ll shape scalable ML systems, mentor engineers, and collaborate with data scientists across the platform.

Own end-to-end ML architecture from data ingestion to real-time inference, promote MLOps practices, and ensure reliable deployment in a fast-paced, globally distributed environment.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and operating ML systems in production.
• Familiarity with serving patterns (REST APIs, batch inference, event-driven).
• Ability to influence infra decisions and tooling choices.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles applied to ML.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Data Scientists, Product Managers, and Backend Engineers to bridge model development and production systems.
• Lead the architectural design of end-to-end ML systems from data ingestion to real-time inference and monitoring.
• Transform prototypes into robust, scalable production software with ownership from discovery to production.
• Drive MLOps adoption (CI/CD for ML, model versioning, feature stores) to accelerate feedback.
• Communicate complexities of ML systems to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Build and maintain networks across Data and Engineering to ensure seamless integration.
• Lead projects, mentor peers, and advocate for engineering excellence in data science.
