Job summary

Just Eat Takeaway.com is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to grow product recommendations within a cross-functional Growth & Customer Experience Engineering team. You will own architecture for scalable ML systems, collaborate with data scientists and engineers, and mentor others to raise the bar on engineering excellence.

The role is hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days remote) across Bristol/London with ownership from data to production and a focus on delivering reliable, high-performance

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python and software engineering principles applied to ML.
• Experience designing and operating ML systems in production, with serving patterns.
• Knowledge of ML tooling and CI/CD for ML (MLOps).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Data Scientists, Product Managers, and Backend Engineers to bridge model development and production systems.
• Lead end-to-end ML system architecture from data ingestion to real-time inference and monitoring.
• Transform prototypes into robust, scalable production software with ownership from discovery to production.
• Promote MLOps practices to accelerate feedback loops for Data Scientists.
• Communicate ML system trade-offs and performance considerations to stakeholders.
• Build networks across Data and Engineering teams to ensure seamless integration with the platform.
• Lead projects, mentor peers, and advocate for engineering excellence in data science.
