Job summary

Just Eat Takeaway.com is hiring a Senior Machine Learning Engineer in a hybrid Bristol/London role. You will collaborate with data scientists and engineers to scale ML capabilities, design end-to-end systems, and deliver production-grade AI features for personalized recommendations.

You will own the architecture, mentor peers, and drive ML operational practices at scale, aligning with our Growth & Customer Experience Engineering goals.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Python and strong software engineering principles including OO design and testing.
• Experience designing and operating ML systems in production beyond notebooks.
• Familiarity with serving patterns (REST APIs, batch inference, event-driven).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Data Scientists, Product Managers, and Backend Engineers to bridge model development and production systems.
• Lead end-to-end ML system architecture from data ingestion to real-time inference and monitoring.
• Transform prototypes into robust, scalable production software with clear ownership from discovery to production.
• Advocate for MLOps best practices (CI/CD for ML, versioning, feature stores) to speed up feedback loops.
• Communicate ML system trade-offs (latency vs. accuracy) to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Build a network across Data and Engineering to ensure ML integration with the platform.
• Lead projects, mentor peers, and champion engineering excellence in data science.
