Job summary

QinetiQ in Farnborough is seeking a Senior Additive Manufacturing Engineer to drive AM integration across advanced materials and devices for defence/aerospace. You will lead technical programmes, engage with customers, mentor engineers, and deliver high-quality proposals and documentation.

The role requires extensive metal AM experience, solid materials science knowledge, and strong leadership with a focus on time and quality. Will travel to customer sites and other QinetiQ locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in additive manufacturing, metal-based technologies.
• Strong materials science understanding and applications to AM.
• Proven ability to lead projects, manage budgets and deliver on time and quality.
• Experience with mechanical testing and validation (e.g. tensile, hardness).
• Expert knowledge of Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) and CAD/CAM.
• Excellent communication and customer engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Leading technical programmes in additive manufacturing projects.
• Engaging with customers to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
• Providing technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers.
• Leading the qualification and certification of AM parts.
• Producing proposals, reports and technical documentation to a high standard.
• Supporting business development through bids, proposals and portfolio management.
