Job summary

FBR Construction Recruitment is seeking an experienced MEP Manager for a major high-rise residential development in Basildon, Essex. You will take ownership of the MEP package, coordinating design, installation and commissioning to meet programme and quality targets.

The role requires strong leadership, deep MEP expertise across HVAC, electrical, BMS and life-safety systems, and experience liaising with stakeholders to ensure timely, compliant handovers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in MEP/M&E management, ideally with high-rise residential delivery.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and public health building services.
• Experience delivering MEP packages from design through handover.
• Experience on complex residential developments with multiple blocks.
• Strong understanding of MEP design coordination and construction sequencing.
• Experience managing specialist MEP subcontractors and monitoring against programme.
• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical distribution, BMS, life-safety systems.
• Understanding Building Safety Act, Building Regulations, Fire Safety and CDM.
• Experience managing statutory testing, certification and compliance.
• Strong health & safety in a live construction environment.
• Experience liaising with utility providers.
• Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder-management skills.
• Education: HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the management and delivery of MEP services across the development.
• Coordinate all MEP subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee MEP works from design through testing, commissioning and handover.
• Review MEP drawings and design information to identify coordination issues.
• Coordinate MEP installations with architectural and structural packages.
• Monitor MEP design development and changes with the project team.
• Manage delivery of services within apartments, common areas and plant rooms.
• Oversee installation and commissioning of HVAC, electrical distribution, BMS and life-safety systems.
