Job summary

Bimplus is seeking an experienced MEP Manager to take responsibility for the coordination and delivery of all MEP services on a major high-rise residential development in Basildon. This site-based role requires strong leadership to coordinate across design, installation, testing and handover with subcontractors and utility providers.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in MEP/M&E management.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and public health building services.
• Experience delivering MEP packages from design through handover.
• Experience on complex residential developments with multiple blocks or high-rise.
• Strong understanding of MEP design coordination and construction sequencing.
• Experience managing specialist MEP subcontractors and monitoring performance.
• Good technical understanding of HVAC, electrical distribution, BMS, fire and life-safety systems, lifts.
• Knowledge of Building Safety Act, Building Regulations, Fire Safety requirements and CDM Regulations.
• Experience managing statutory testing, certification and compliance.
• Strong health & safety procedures in live construction environments.
• Experience liaising with utility providers and coordinating incoming services.
• Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to identify technical problems and drive solutions without delaying programme.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the management and delivery of MEP services across the development.
• Coordinate and manage all mechanical, electrical and public health subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee MEP works from design development to testing, commissioning and handover.
• Review drawings and specifications to identify coordination and buildability issues.
• Coordinate MEP installations with architectural and structural packages.
• Monitor MEP design development and changes with contractors and project team.
• Manage delivery of services within apartments, communal areas, plant rooms and landlord areas.
• Oversee HVAC, electrical distribution, BMS, life-safety systems, lifts and renewable technologies.
• Liaise with utility providers to secure required infrastructure and connections.
• Chair MEP design, coordination and progress meetings and close out actions.
