Job summary

Care in Mind is recruiting a Mental Health Senior Support Worker for Preston to cover full-time shifts (37.5 hours) with weekend and bank holiday work. You will support young people with mental health needs, manage records and medication, and work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver care in a therapeutic setting.

Qualifications

• Level 3 diploma in care or willingness to work towards this.
• Flexibility to work shifts including weekends and bank holidays.
• Must attend training during employment (weekdays).
• Good written skills and ability to write basic reports and records.
• Basic IT skills and ability to use an online care system and write emails.
• Good verbal communication and ability to listen to others.
• Maintain professional working boundaries and stay calm in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Update online care records and complete medication administration.
• Provide effective handovers to day staff.
• Maintain a tidy, homely environment in the home.
• Support wellbeing, education and life skills of young people.
• Assist with incident management and de-escalation of challenging behaviours.
• Support training and mentoring within the team.
