Job summary

Care In Mind is seeking a part-time Mental Health Support Worker in Stockport. You will cover 24 and 20 hour weeks, including weekends, with pro rata pay for part-time hours. The role involves supporting young people with mental health needs, recording care information, and maintaining a safe, caring home environment.

Full training is provided; prior care experience is not essential. You will be supported by the team and on-call manager for complex situations and shifts.

Qualifications

• Flexibility to work weekends and Bank Holidays.
• Training throughout employment on Weekdays.
• Ability to write basic reports accurately.
• Basic IT skills and using online care system.
• Good verbal communication and listening skills.
• Maintain professional boundaries.
• Remain calm in emergencies and support others.

Responsibilities

• Update online care records and complete medication administration.
• Provide effective handovers to day staff.
• Support wellbeing, education, and life skills of young people.
• Assist with household tasks and ensure the home is tidy and welcoming.
• Participate in incident de-escalation and safety management.
• Support transition of young people moving on to community settings.
