Job summary

Care in Mind in Preston is seeking a Mental Health Support Worker (Band 1) on a part-time contract of 22.5 hours per week. You will work shifts including weekends and bank holidays at Florida Residential Service, Ashton-on-Ribble, Preston, supporting young people aged 16-30 with mental health needs.

Salary ranges £26,227.50–£27,378 per year, pro rata for part-time hours; training provided; DBS check required and sponsorship not offered.

Qualifications

• Flexibility to work shifts including weekends and bank holidays
• Must attend training during employment on weekdays
• Good written skills and ability to write basic reports
• Basic IT skills (use of online care system and emails)
• Good verbal communication and listening
• Understanding of confidentiality
• Understanding of safeguarding
• Professional working boundary with service users
• Ability to remain calm in emergencies

Responsibilities

• Update online care records and complete medication administration
• Assist with education, household tasks and life skills to promote independence
• Ensure homely environment and maintain tidiness of the home
• Support young people with mental health needs and navigate challenges
• Drive service car if required
