Job summary

Care In Mind in Stockport is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Support Worker to support young people with mental health needs at a residential home. You will cover shifts including nights on occasion and work closely with a clinical team to maintain a safe, supportive living environment.

The role requires a full UK driving licence, strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to document care and manage routine tasks.

Qualifications

• Flexibility to work shifts including weekends and bank holidays.
• Full UK manual driving licence (not automatic).
• Willingness to attend training on weekdays.
• Ability to write basic reports and records accurately.
• Basic IT skills for forms, care system, emails.

Responsibilities

• Update online care records and provide handovers to day staff.
• Assist with medication administration and support wellbeing and life skills.
• Maintain a clean, tidy home environment and contribute to household tasks.
• Respond to incidents with de-escalation and maintain professional boundaries.
• Support transitions to the community and use of transport and appointments.
