Job summary

ACTEMIUM Design in the UK is seeking an experienced Mechanical Stress Engineer to support nuclear and heavily regulated projects. You will perform detailed pipeline stress analyses, seismic assessments and provide calculation packages and technical reports to meet design codes and safety requirements.

You will work within a multidisciplinary engineering team, develop robust solutions, review design calculations, and contribute to design reviews and technical assurance activities throughout

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong background in pipeline stress calculations or seismic analysis.
• Proficiency with industry analysis tools Mathcad, CAESAR II and ANSYS.
• Knowledge of ASME B31.1, B31.3, EN13480, BS EN 13001, BS EN 1993 and seismic design requirements.
• Ability to prepare calculation notes and technical reports.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed stress analysis and flexibility assessments using industry-standard software.
• Develop and verify engineering calculations for supports and mechanical equipment.
• Produce stress reports, calculation packages and technical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with relevant design codes, standards and project specifications.
• Participate in design reviews, hazard studies and technical assurance activities.
• Support site investigations, troubleshooting and engineering modifications as required.
