Job summary

Pertemps Bond is seeking a Senior Mechanical Fitter to join a well-established specialist engineering business on a nationwide basis across the UK. You’ll work on rotating and vibratory machinery, performing workshop overhauls and field service at customer sites.

Role requires extensive hands-on fitting, good fault-finding and the ability to work to fine tolerances in workshop and field environments. A CCNSG Safety Passport is desirable and driving is essential.

Qualifications

• Time-served and fully qualified as a Mechanical Fitter/Technician
• City & Guilds Level 3, NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent
• A full, clean UK driving licence is essential
• Experience with rotating and/or vibratory equipment
• Experience in workshop and field-service environments
• Strong fault-finding and reading engineering drawings

Responsibilities

• Strip, inspect, repair and rebuild industrial rotating or vibratory machinery
• Attend customer sites for installations, commissioning, servicing and breakdown support
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, cross-sectional schematics and manuals
• Carry out precision mechanical fitting tasks in workshop and on site
• Identify wear, defects and potential failures through inspections
• Use precision measuring equipment to verify tolerances
