Job summary

Pertemps North Midlands is recruiting a Senior Mechanical Fitter on behalf of a well-established specialist engineering business. You will work on industrial rotating and vibratory machinery, combining workshop overhauls with field service across the UK.

Responsibilities include stripping, repairing, fault-finding and on-site breakdown support, with a focus on precision fitting and adherence to drawings. A full clean UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Time-served and fully qualified as a Mechanical Fitter/Technician.
• Experience in industrial rotating machinery and field-service environments.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting abilities.

Responsibilities

• Strip, inspect, repair, service and rebuild industrial rotating and vibratory machinery.
• Work on equipment including machine tools, bespoke machinery, gearboxes and pumps.
• Carry out machinery inspections and identify wear, vibration, defects and potential failures.
• Diagnose complex mechanical faults and conduct root-cause failure analysis.
• Complete high-quality machinery overhauls within a workshop and on-site environment.
• Attend customer sites for installations, commissioning, servicing and breakdown support.
