Job summary

Pertemps North Midlands is recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a specialist team. The role combines hands-on workshop work with site visits across the UK, focusing on rotating and vibratory machinery, diagnostics and servicing.

You will lead inspections, supervise repairs and produce technical reports, acting as the technical liaison between customers, fitters and engineers. A BEng/BSc or equivalent, IEng status, and a UK driving licence are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in an industrial engineering environment.
• Experience servicing and repairing industrial rotating equipment and vibratory machinery.
• Knowledge of machining, welding, fabrication and fastening techniques.
• Experience with machinery design principles and analysis.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly to customers and internal teams.
• Experience in workshop and onsite work is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise machinery inspections, servicing and repair programmes, both within the workshop and at customer sites.
• Inspect and diagnose faults across industrial rotating and vibratory machinery.
• Produce detailed technical reports, clearly communicating findings and recommendations.
• Support the design and modification of machinery and equipment.
• Manage service and repair programmes, including planned schedules.
• Supervise onsite inspections, commissioning and condition monitoring.
