Job summary

Pertemps North Midlands is seeking a Senior Mechanical Fitter to service rotating and vibratory machinery in a full-time, permanent capacity based in Newhall with UK-wide site work.

You will strip, inspect, repair and rebuild equipment, diagnose faults and support emergency breakdowns, combining precision workshop overhauls with field service. Strong fitting skills and bearing/sealing system knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Candidates should be time-served and fully qualified as a Mechanical Fitter/Technician.
• City & Guilds Level 3 or NVQ Level 3 in mechanical manufacturing or maintenance is preferred.
• An ONC/HNC in Mechanical Engineering is desirable; strong practical experience is valued.
• A full, clean UK driving licence is essential for field service work.

Responsibilities

• Strip, inspect, repair and rebuild industrial rotating and vibratory machinery.
• Work on equipment including machine tools, bespoke machinery, gearboxes and pumps.
• Carry out machinery inspections and identify wear, vibration, defects and potential failures.
• Diagnose complex mechanical faults and conduct root-cause analysis.
• Complete high-quality machinery overhauls in a workshop setting and at customer sites.
