Job summary

Pertemps North Midlands is recruiting an experienced Mechanical Engineer for a role combining technical engineering, hands-on work and client-facing responsibility. The position involves working in Swadlincote with travel to customer sites across the UK, leading inspections and repair programmes for industrial rotating and vibratory machinery.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in industrial engineering, strong fault-finding skills, and the ability to produce clear technical reports.

Qualifications

• BEng/BSc Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status would be highly advantageous.
• CCNSG Safety Passport or equivalent site safety certification.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise machinery inspections, servicing and repair programmes both in the workshop and at customer sites.
• Inspect and diagnose faults across industrial rotating and vibratory machinery.
• Carry out root cause analysis and identify practical engineering solutions.
• Produce detailed technical engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Work with Mechanical Fitters and Engineering Technicians to ensure quality repair work.
• Act as a professional representative of the business when dealing with customers.
