Job summary

Rogers McHugh in Greater Manchester is seeking a Mechanical Estimator with a strong grasp of design and build tendering. You will develop complete tenders for MEP packages, often from incomplete drawings, estimating labour, materials and subcontractor costs.

The role covers projects from £1 million to £15 million, with a hybrid working pattern and a focus on accommodation sector and other schemes. A solid background in MEP estimating and Design & Build experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Solid background as Mechanical Estimator in building services/MEP.
• Experience pricing mechanical installations on construction projects.
• Experience with Design & Build projects is essential.
• Comfort pricing from detailed specifications or drawings with gaps.

Responsibilities

• Prepare mechanical estimates and tenders for MEP packages worth £1M–£15M.
• Review tender enquiries, drawings and specs to include all required elements.
• Identify missing information and develop complete, competitive tenders.
• Carry out take-offs and obtain quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Develop commercially sensible tenders that protect margins.
