Job summary

NMS Recruit Ltd t/a Russell Taylor Group is recruiting an experienced Mechanical Estimator for a Manchester-based role with an established M&E contractor. You will price from drawings and specifications, and work on Design & Build projects while managing tenders.

The position is permanent with a competitive salary package dependent on experience, offering the chance to lead tender submissions and contribute significantly to project success.

Qualifications

• Experience as Mechanical Estimator in M&E/building services.
• Pricing Design & Build projects.
• Ability to price from drawings, specs, or incomplete designs.
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed competitive mechanical estimates.
• Price Design & Build projects from specs, drawings and tender docs.
• Produce tenders from blank or partially developed drawings.
• Review designs and identify information gaps.
• Develop incomplete designs into fully costed packages.
• Calculate costs for labour, materials, plant and subcontractors.
• Obtain supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Identify commercial risks and value engineering opportunities.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers and internal teams.
• Ensure tenders are submitted within deadlines.
