Job summary

Rogers McHugh Recruitment is seeking a Mechanical Estimator for an established MEP contractor in Tyldesley, Greater Manchester. You will price mechanical packages from £1m to £15m, often with incomplete designs, and develop complete, competitive tenders.

The role focuses on Design and Build projects across accommodation and other sectors, requiring a strong technical understanding of mechanical services, labour, materials and subcontractor costs. Hybrid working is available.

Qualifications

• Solid background as a Mechanical Estimator in MEP/building services.
• Experience pricing mechanical installations on construction projects.
• Experience with Design and Build projects is essential.
• Ability to price from detailed specs and from incomplete drawings.
• Identify gaps in information and develop complete tenders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare mechanical estimates and tenders for £1m–£15m projects.
• Review tender enquiries, drawings and specifications to define scope.
• Carry out take-offs, obtain quotations and build up costs.
• Develop competitive tenders while protecting margins.
• Identify risks and assumptions in the price.
