Job summary

Morson Edge is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its design team on water and wastewater projects across the UK. This hybrid role offers diverse exposure from concept to construction, working within a multidisciplinary team on pumping stations, treatment works and sludge facilities.

You will lead mechanical design delivery, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with clients, site teams and stakeholders to ensure high-quality solutions and on-time project delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering mechanical design solutions within water or wastewater.
• Knowledge of pumping stations, treatment processes and related equipment.
• AutoCAD 2D proficiency.
• Experience using pump selection and pump calculation software.
• Ability to undertake site surveys and develop practical engineering solutions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver mechanical designs across feasibility, outline and detailed design stages.
• Produce and review engineering calculations, drawings, technical reports and specifications.
• Develop cost-effective, high-quality engineering solutions aligned with client requirements.
• Coordinate with clients, stakeholders and site teams throughout project delivery.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians.
• Assist with project planning, resource allocation and budget management.
• Support bid activities, site inspections and occasional construction-stage activities.
