Job summary

MWH Treatment is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to strengthen the Southern Division. You will lead mechanical design across major water and wastewater projects, delivering robust, buildable solutions that meet client requirements and long-term asset performance goals.

You'll coordinate with Process, EICA, Civil, Structural, Digital and Commissioning teams, mentor junior engineers, and drive safety, sustainability and whole-life cost considerations throughout project lifecycles.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in mechanical design within water, wastewater, utilities or a regulated engineering environment.
• Good understanding of water and sewage treatment processes and the mechanical systems that support them.
• Experience producing and reviewing mechanical calculations, equipment specs, technical reports and design documentation.
• Ability to develop practical, buildable mechanical solutions considering safety, sustainability and whole-life cost.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design tasks and packages to standards, budgets and programmes.
• Develop mechanical designs, equipment specs, plant layouts and technical documentation.
• Produce cost-effective mechanical solutions considering life-cycle costs.
• Review and assure mechanical design outputs for quality and compliance.
• Coordinate with Process, EICA, Civil, Structural, Digital and Commissioning teams.
• Mentor engineers, graduates and apprentices within the team.
