Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design of water and wastewater infrastructure. You will work on projects across the lifecycle, from concept to commissioning, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant solutions.

You will collaborate with Electrical, Civil, Geotech and Process designers, coach engineers, and travel to sites within the UK. Chartered status or equivalent is preferred, with a commitment to professional development and chartership.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Chartered or incorporated member of a professional institution e.g. ICE, IMechE, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Methodical approach to problem solving.
• A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across your operational region.
• Water/wastewater experience required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design of water and wastewater infrastructure and related projects through all design stages.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary design teams to deliver on programme and within budget.
• Collaborate with commercial, operational and construction teams to develop safe, efficient solutions.
• Engage with clients to manage relationships and support project aims.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers within the mechanical engineering team.
