Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley in the UK is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design of water and wastewater infrastructure and related projects through outline and detailed design, construction, commissioning, and handover. You will define safe access, lifting arrangements, P&IDs, valve schedules and pump calculations.

You will coordinate with Electrical, Civil, Geotech and Process designers, mentor engineers, and travel to sites within the region as needed.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Chartered or Incorporated member of a professional institution (ICE/IMechE) or equivalent experience.
• Effective communication with team members and stakeholders.
• Methodical approach to problem solving.
• Willingness to travel to sites across the operational region.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Electrical, Civil, Geotech and Process designers to ensure designs are on programme, within budget and to quality standards.
• Collaborate with commercial, operational and construction teams to develop safe, practical solutions throughout design stages and beyond.
• Engage with the client to manage relationships and support project aims.
• Mentor engineers, develop the mechanical team and allocate resources as needed.
