Job summary

Arup is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer specialising in data centre projects to lead design and implementation of cutting-edge HVAC solutions. You will develop detailed design models, drive performance and efficiency, and guide senior and junior team members across projects in the fast-paced data centre sector.

With Chartered Engineer status in Building Services or within reach, you will bring extensive consulting experience, proficiency in energy modelling tools, and a track record across

Qualifications

• Must be a Chartered Engineer (Building Services) or within 6–12 months of achieving it.
• Significant experience in Mechanical Engineering within a consulting environment.
• Experience across data centre design and construction stages, including cooling solutions, PUE/WUE efficiency, resilience/TIER levels, and testing/commissioning.
• Proficiency in design and energy modelling tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of mechanical and HVAC systems for data centre projects.
• Develop detailed design models and simulations using advanced modelling techniques.
• Mentor junior team members and represent the team in meetings with clients.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and align with strategic objectives.
