The Role

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will have a unique role within a supportive team environment. You will utilize your skills to develop, integrate, and test mission-critical systems at the forefront of their domain.

You will lead oversight and provide technical assurance across multiple engineering projects, challenging the status quo. Your activities will include supporting complex assets, upgrade projects for naval platforms, and assisting with future bids.

  1. Review mechanical engineering deliverables such as technical documentation, 3D CAD models, and drawings.
  2. Engage in concept setting, including material selection and scoping calculations.
  3. Manage full lifecycle engineering activities.
  4. Define test instructions and interpret results.
  5. Understand non-conformance and change request processes.

This full-time role offers 37 hours per week with hybrid working: 2 days onsite and 3 days remote, though longer onsite periods may be required.

Essential Experience
  • Proficiency in mechanical design for manufacture and validation via hand calculations.
  • Ability to supervise and guide teams across multiple projects and disciplines.
  • Experience with systems engineering design processes.
  • Proficiency in CAD systems for design, modeling, simulation, and drafting.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Higher National Diploma/Certificate with relevant experience.
Security Clearance

The candidate must be a UK national able to obtain and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance, and subsequently Security Check (SC).
