We are looking for an experienced SeniorMechanical Engineer to join a dynamic and multi-disciplinary team working at the forefront of medical device innovation. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys tackling complex technical challenges and delivering high-quality products that have a real-world impact on people’s health and wellbeing.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a methodical engineer with a deep understanding of how products work, and a strong motivation to meet the needs of users and patients. You’ll be contributing your technical skills to projects alongside experts in electronics, software, and design.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and contribute to the development of electromechanical medical products from concept through to manufacture
Apply sound engineering principles, including modelling, analysis, and data-driven decision-making
Engage in risk management activities in line with ISO 14971, including FMEA and Fault Tree Analysis
Collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams to ensure cohesive and user-centred product solutions
Present concepts and technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Manage client relationships and communicate progress, challenges, and outcomes
Take ownership of project delivery—ensuring high-quality outputs, on time and within budget
Essential Skills & Experience
Strong background in mechanical engineering (degree-qualified)
Experience in the design and development of mechanical or electromechanical systems
A systematic and analytical approach to engineering problems
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams
Desirable Experience
Familiarity with medical device development and regulatory standards (especially ISO 14971)
Experience in consultancy or client-facing project work
Leading or managing engineering projects
Hands-on experience with data acquisition, testing, and performance analysis
End-to-end product development: concept, prototyping, testing, DFM, and transfer to manufacture
