Job summary

Bennett & Game Recruitment Ltd. is seeking a Senior Design Engineer in Wakefield to take technical ownership of bespoke machinery projects from concept through to FAT, installation and commissioning.

You will produce detailed 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings, select components, and work with fabrication, machining, assembly, electrical and controls teams to deliver practical, safe and cost-efficient solutions.

Qualifications

• Significant mechanical design experience with bespoke machinery or production systems.
• Strong 3D CAD capability, ideally Autodesk Inventor.
• Good understanding of fabrication, machining, tolerances and materials.
• Experience leading design reviews and DFMA improvements.

Responsibilities

• Take technical ownership from concept through detailed design, FAT, installation and commissioning.
• Develop detailed CAD models, assemblies and manufacturing drawings.
• Select motors, gearboxes, bearings and pneumatic components as required.
• Collaborate with fabrication, machining, assembly, electrical and controls teams.
• Support risk assessments and ensure safety standards are met.
