Job summary

Platform Recruitment are partnering with a South Bedfordshire machinery manufacturer to recruit a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer. You will take projects from concept through to detailed design and manufacture, delivering reliable, high-specification machinery.

In this role you will develop bespoke machinery, produce detailed 2D drawings and 3D CAD models, and manage projects through the full product life cycle, collaborating with manufacturing and project teams to optimise equipment

Qualifications

• Experienced in developing bespoke machinery.
• Strong 3D CAD skills demonstrated on capital equipment projects.
• Experience developing capital equipment, conveyors or special purpose machinery.
• Experience with machining, fabrication, or other production processes.
• Hands-on engineering skills including prototyping, assembly, and fault finding.
• Ability to produce detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical designs for bespoke machinery and equipment.
• Produce detailed 2D drawings and 3D CAD models.
• Manage projects throughout the full product life cycle.
• Work closely with manufacturing, production and project teams.
• Support new equipment development and wider engineering projects.
