Job summary

MEPJOBS UK in Cardiff is seeking an Intermediate / Senior Mechanical Building Services Engineer to join our in-house design team delivering major commercial, healthcare, education, industrial and public-sector projects.

You will have real technical ownership, work across projects from concept through to construction, and at Senior level, mentor junior engineers. This role offers progression opportunities within a growing team.

Qualifications

• Strong background in Mechanical Building Services Design.
• Experience in Consultancy or Design & Build environments.
• Proficient with Revit and AutoCAD.
• Experience with MagiCAD, Hevacomp, IES VE or TAS.
• Solid understanding of HVAC and mechanical systems.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical building services from concept to detailed design.
• Deliver HVAC, heating, cooling, LTHW, CHW and public health systems.
• Carry out sizing calculations for heating, cooling, hydraulics, and pipes.
• Design plantrooms and select equipment.
• Produce specifications, reports and schedules.
• Coordinate designs with Revit/BIM and other teams.
• Attend client, design and site meetings; support construction and handover.
