Job summary

Carrington West is representing a leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their building services team in the UK. You will deliver high-quality mechanical design solutions across healthcare, education, residential, commercial and public sector projects.

You will lead design delivery, mentor junior engineers, develop client relationships and help drive sustainable, low-carbon engineering through innovative solutions.

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3-4 years' post-qualification experience within building services design.
• Strong experience delivering mechanical engineering solutions within a consultancy environment.
• Knowledge of relevant British Standards, Building Regulations and industry guidance.
• Experience using design software such as Revit, Relux/Dialux, Amtech or equivalent software.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design delivery on selected projects.
• Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Manage mechanical design elements from concept through to completion.
• Produce technical drawings, specifications and design documentation.
• Carry out engineering calculations and support technical reviews.
• Attend client meetings and contribute to presentations.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers.
• Maintain and improve technical standards within the engineering team.
• Contribute to innovative, sustainable and low-carbon engineering solutions.
