Job summary

PT Renewables in Cardiff is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to lead building services design from concept through to detailed design and delivery.

You will work on HVAC, heating, ventilation and public health systems, producing calculations and reports while coordinating with electrical, structural and architectural teams on varied commercial, education and industrial projects.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Mechanical Building Services Design.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC and MEP systems.
• Confident using Revit within a building services environment.
• Experience with Hevacomp, MagiCAD, IES VE or similar design software.
• Strong understanding of mechanical calculations and system design.
• Consultancy or MEP experience.
• Degree, HND or equivalent in Mechanical / Building Services Engineering.
• Working towards CIBSE / IMechE membership or professional accreditation.
• Experience across commercial, education, healthcare or industrial projects.
• Strong client-facing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Mechanical Design Engineer – Building Services

The Role

We’re looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join an established Building Services consultancy in Cardiff, working across a strong portfolio of commercial, industrial, education and public-sector projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Intermediate to Senior Engineer with a solid MEP background who wants to take ownership of mechanical designs from concept through to detailed design and delivery.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Designing HVAC, heating, ventilation, air conditioning and public health systems
• Producing mechanical calculations, specifications and technical reports
• Developing and coordinating designs using Revit
• Working closely with electrical, structural and architectural teams
