Job summary

PT Renewables in Cardiff is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to lead building services design from concept through to detailed design and delivery.

You will work on HVAC, heating, ventilation and public health systems, producing calculations and reports while coordinating with electrical, structural and architectural teams on varied commercial, education and industrial projects.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Mechanical Building Services Design.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC and MEP systems.
• Confident using Revit within a building services environment.
• Experience with Hevacomp, MagiCAD, IES VE or similar design software.
• Strong understanding of mechanical calculations and system design.
• Consultancy or MEP experience.
• Degree, HND or equivalent in Mechanical / Building Services Engineering.
• Working towards CIBSE / IMechE membership or professional accreditation.
• Experience across commercial, education, healthcare or industrial projects.
• Strong client-facing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Designing HVAC, heating, ventilation and air conditioning and public health systems.
• Producing mechanical calculations, specifications and technical reports.
• Developing and coordinating designs using Revit.
• Working closely with electrical, structural and architectural teams.
• Supporting projects from concept through to construction.
• Attending design meetings and liaising with clients and project teams.
• Ensuring designs meet current British Standards, regulations and client requirements.
