Job summary

Maiden Erlegh School is seeking a passionate Maths Teacher to join the department and inspire students at Key Stage 3–5. You will plan and deliver engaging lessons, assess progress and adapt your approach to meet diverse learning needs.

The role includes contributing to curriculum development and safeguarding, within a supportive Trust environment. The successful candidate will hold QTS, a PGCE or equivalent, and a commitment to high standards of student achievement.

Qualifications

• Hold a good quality degree, a PGCE or equivalent qualification in secondary education, and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience delivering engaging and effective maths lessons with classroom management.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality Maths lessons engaging and challenging students.
• Create an inclusive classroom environment where all students make progress.
• Use effective teaching strategies to meet differing needs and overcome barriers to learning.
• Assess students’ knowledge and progress to inform teaching and support improvements.
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement, ensuring a safe learning environment.
• Contribute to the development and delivery of the Maths curriculum.
• Build positive relationships with students, parents and carers and colleagues.
• Direct and work with support staff to help students access learning.
• Support tutor provision and student wellbeing.
• Contribute to wider school life including enrichment and extra-curricular activities.
