Job summary

Maiden Erlegh School is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Classroom Teacher of Maths to join our team as Second in Department. You will plan, resource and deliver high-quality Maths lessons, contributing to curriculum development and maintaining a safe, ambitious learning environment.

You will hold a good degree, a PGCE or equivalent in secondary education and QTS, with a track record of engaging lessons and high expectations for student progress.

Qualifications

  • Hold a good quality degree, a PGCE or equivalent qualification in secondary education, and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Be a skilled classroom practitioner with the ability to deliver engaging and effective lessons.
  • Have high expectations of students and a strong commitment to securing excellent progress and achievement.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality Maths lessons that engage, challenge and inspire students.
  • Create an inclusive classroom environment where all students make strong progress and achieve high standards.
  • Use a range of teaching strategies to meet differing needs and overcome barriers to learning.
  • Assess students’ knowledge, understanding and progress to inform teaching and future support.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement and achievement in a safe learning environment.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the Maths curriculum and tutor provision.
