Job description

The DRVN Automotive Group is recruiting for an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join an exceptional Manufacturing Engineering team based in Coventry.

You will hit the ground running, bringing senior-level experience in planning and delivering multiple vehicle lines, with a deep understanding of the end-to-end production process from initial concept through to final delivery.

The key role will be to support the setup and layout of production lines, provide lean manufacturing principles, maintain safe documented control systems, and facilitate automotive manufacturing assemblies with a Right First-Time, methodical approach. You will contribute to the overall efficiency of all manufacturing operations across multiple sites, coaching and leading other team members.

Responsibilities
  • Follow and adhere to all company policies and procedures, including Health and Safety protocols.
  • Work in a cross-functional environment with engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, product management, and suppliers to optimise manufacturability.
  • Support AME in program activities for NPI to meet Manufacturing Engineering targets.
  • Develop documentation processes and tooling through approved project and change management processes.
  • Ensure all product information (BOP, PFMEA, Process Flow charts, Work Instructions, etc.) are current and accessible.
  • Prepare capital expenditure estimates for new and existing products.
  • Implement and improve documentation, tooling, equipment, and operator training to meet standards and final sign-off requirements.
  • Procure tooling, equipment, and materials through internal systems.
  • Specify equipment and recommend technical selections for purchased equipment.
  • Introduce lean manufacturing principles to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Support AME by investigating and validating new process technologies and methods.
  • Understand and communicate effectively with manufacturing/production to resolve concerns.
  • Support less experienced process engineers and mentor team members.
  • Implement 5S initiatives.
  • Hold HNC qualification or equivalent in Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Have 3-5 years of experience in an automotive/manufacturing environment.
  • Possess a strong background in manufacturing engineering principles.
  • Advocate for quality within the company and with external stakeholders.
  • Understand industry standards like IATF16949, ISO9001, and lean principles.
  • Experience in generating work instructions, process flows, and managing change.
  • Able to identify risks and implement new processes safely.
  • Experience with BOMs and change management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Must have full rights to work in the UK; sponsorship is not provided.
  • Experience with Body in White, carbon fibre, and CAD is preferred.
