Job Description
We are seeking a motivated individual to join our Manufacturing Team as a Senior Production Engineer.
The Role
- Design, develop, and implement new production methods, jigs, and fixtures to support the NPI process.
- Create CNC programs for 3, 4, & 5 axis and mill-turn machines using NX CAM & Vericut.
- Manage the effective release of new products into production.
- Implement new cutting technologies to improve existing production methods.
- Produce and maintain associated documentation such as Process Instructions, Test Instructions, and BOM contents for all product builds.
- Assist with the implementation of staff training programs.
- Manage cost containment strategies.
- Estimate production times and costs.
- Check BOMs for structure and content.
- Collaborate with supply chain on potential cost reduction programs.
- Consider the health, safety, environmental, and energy impacts of all activities.
- Support the company's compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018, following policy and best practices.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrable experience programming complex automotive or aerospace components using a CAD/CAM system, ideally NX.
- Apprentice-trained with a relevant engineering qualification (HNC or higher).
- Experience in fixture design with a strong understanding of GD&T.
- A logical approach to problem solving, root cause analysis, and countermeasures.
- Strong planning and organization skills, adaptable to change.
- Experience with Vericut and SAP ERP system is advantageous.
