NexGen Consultancy is currently recruiting for a Senior Production Engineer (MillTurn) to join a well-established, global brand specializing in the Motorsport sector.

Hours of work: Monday - Thursday: 7:30am - 4:30pm / Friday: 7:30am - 3:30pm

Job Description

Our client is seeking a motivated individual to join our Manufacturing Team as a Senior Production Engineer.

The Role:

1. Responsible for producing CNC programs for 4 & 5 axis machines, and Multi Axis Turn-Mills using Siemens NX & Vericut.
2. Responsible for producing CNC grinding programs for a variety of grinding machines.
3. Manage new part introduction for short lead time prototype & production projects.
4. Create & define manufacturing routings & BOM using SAP ERP.
5. Design fixtures & tooling for NPI projects.
6. Introduce new cutting technology to improve tool life & cycle time.
7. Assist with implementation of departmental training & progression.
8. Estimate production times and costs.
9. Identify ways to reduce costs within manufacturing processes.
10. Consider health and safety, environmental, and energy impacts of all activities.
11. Support the company’s compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018, following policy and best practice.

Candidate Profile:

1. Proven experience in machining/programming complex components in the automotive/aerospace industry.
2. Experience with Siemens NX CAD/CAM system.
3. Experience using Vericut simulation software.
4. Use of SAP ERP systems is desirable.
5. Relevant engineering qualification achieved (HNC or higher).
6. Thorough understanding of machining/cutting and inspection techniques.
7. Strong organization and communication skills.
8. Willingness to be flexible to support where necessary.
