Job summary

Tarka Talent is partnering with a specialist consulting organisation to lead major retail and FMCG transformation programmes, advising executive leaders and shaping AI-enabled business change. You will influence strategic decisions, build trusted client relationships and develop consultants while delivering measurable commercial value.

The Managing Consultant will guide multi-workstream programmes, shape operating models and roadmaps, and mentor teams to ensure high-impact, practical outcomes

Qualifications

• 8+ years’ experience in retail or FMCG consulting or a combination of consulting and industry leadership.
• Proven track record leading complex transformation programmes with executive stakeholders.
• Expertise in at least one area such as merchandising, demand planning, retail strategy, change or AI enablement.
• Experience shaping and delivering technology-enabled transformation, with an understanding of retail systems and practical risk management.
• Strong commercial judgement, executive-level communication skills and the ability to develop high-performing teams and client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead major retail and FMCG transformation programmes, setting strategic direction and delivery standards across multiple workstreams.
• Shape operating models and transformation roadmaps, applying AI, automation and commercial insight to improve business performance.
• Advise senior stakeholders, challenge existing thinking and influence decisions through compelling presentations and evidence-led business cases.
• Identify opportunities to expand client relationships, develop proposals and contribute directly to revenue and margin performance.
• Lead and mentor consultants, strengthening delivery quality, strategic thinking and the wider consulting capability.
