Job summary

Carnival UK is seeking a Senior Manager, Head of Engineering Standards and DevOps to steer the Engineering and DevOps Centre of Excellence. You will define standards, governance and CI/CD practices across internal and partner teams, and own platform tooling and security integration to enhance developer experience.

In this role you will lead software engineering teams in a complex enterprise, drive modern practices, automation and cloud-native capabilities, and shape career paths and development

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading software engineering teams within a complex enterprise environment.
• Proven experience establishing engineering standards, quality governance, DevOps practices and technical assurance across internal and third-party teams.
• Deep knowledge of modern software engineering, CI/CD, automation, observability and cloud-native delivery.
• A degree-level qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Engineering and DevOps Centre of Excellence, managing engineering capability across DTO and building a strong community of practice.
• Define engineering standards, coding practices and DevOps requirements for in-house and outsourced software and platform teams.
• Own the CI/CD pipeline strategy and platform tooling, integrating security, testing and observability into the developer experience.
• Govern technical quality across DTO while driving the adoption of modern engineering practices, automation and cloud-native capabilities.
