Job summary

Currys is seeking an Engineering Lead to own engineering standards, quality and delivery assurance across a multi-partner landscape. This hands-on role sits at the centre of integration governance, covering .NET middleware to frontend connectivity.

You will lead by example, drive CI/CD, set engineering principles, and build internal capability to reduce partner dependency over time. Strong retail/ecommerce and regulated env experience is valued.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of senior engineering experience in multi-team or multi-partner environments.
• Hands-on .NET and Azure; full-stack capability strongly preferred.
• Experience designing, building and governing integration services and APIs.
• Proven track record in producing resilient, production-grade applications.
• Observability/monitoring built in from design, not an afterthought.
• Strong SDLC knowledge: CI/CD, pipeline ownership, env management and release governance (Azure DevOps).
• Ability to work with external delivery partners and hold them to account.
• Experience recruiting and developing engineering talent.
• Retail/ecommerce or high-volume consumer environment experience.
• Familiarity with regulated or financially sensitive integration environments.
• Experience in large transformation programmes with multiple third-party partners.

Responsibilities

• Own and enforce engineering standards across all delivery partners and internal teams.
• Conduct and lead code reviews; provide clear, actionable feedback.
• Define and document engineering principles for Integration Services.
• Provide technical assurance across integration design and implementation.
• Review integration approaches across .NET middleware, Azure services, and connected systems.
• Ensure resilience, self-healing and scalability are in built from day one.
• Own the engineering approach to CI/CD and release governance.
• Lead pipeline standards, branching strategies and environment management.
• Drive maturity across release governance and partner alignment.
• Collaborate with external partners and build in-house capability over time.
• Represent engineering at programme level and translate requirements into actionable work.
