Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead Management Accountant for a Randburg, Gauteng-based manufacturing client. You will lead the management accounting function, build financial models, deliver insights to senior leadership, and shape strategic planning.

The role requires 7+ years in management accounting with at least 3 years in leadership, CMA/CA(SA) preferred, and strong ERP/Excel skills. Residency or relocation to Randburg is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional certification (e.g., CMA, CA(SA)) preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in management accounting and financial analysis, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct all management accounting activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Develop and implement financial strategies to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
• Prepare detailed management reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior leadership.
• Analyze business performance, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations to optimize results.
• Lead the FP&A process for the organization.
• Manage the cost accounting function, ensuring accurate product costing and inventory valuation.
• Develop and maintain robust financial models for strategic projects and investments.
• Mentor, train, and manage the performance of the management accounting team.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the finance department.
• Collaborate with other departments to understand operational drivers and their financial implications.
