Job summary

Agincare is seeking a Senior Management Accountant to join our Poole finance team. Based full-time in our Poole office, you will deliver high-quality financial analysis and drive continuous improvement across management accounting activities.

You’ll work with the Senior Accountant, lead Management Accountants, and collaborate with department heads on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decisions to improve financial performance.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified ACCA, ACA, or CIMA.
• 2–3 years’ experience in management accounting.
• Experience in a senior or supervisory role.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage the month-end process, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Produce detailed variance analysis and explanations for performance movements.
• Prepare monthly financial performance reports, KPIs, and ad-hoc analysis for senior stakeholders.
• Support and mentor junior accounting staff and promote best practice.
• Collaborate with department heads on budgeting and forecasting aligned to strategic goals.

This role is based full time in our Poole office.

You’ll provide high‑quality financial analysis, support strategic decision‑making, and oversee the delivery of management accounting activities. You’ll work closely with the Senior Accountant and lead the work of our Management Accountants, helping to drive accuracy, insight, and continuous improvement across the function.

What you’ll be doing

• Managing the month‑end process, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Producing detailed variance analysis and clear explanations for performance movements
• Preparing monthly financial performance reports, KPIs, and ad‑hoc analysis for senior stakeholders
• Supporting and mentoring junior accounting staff, helping to develop capability and best practice
• Collaborating with department heads on budgeting and forecasting aligned to strategic goals
• Monitoring business costs and identifying opportunities to improve financial performance
• Ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting and compliance with internal processes
• Maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Supporting continuous improvement across systems, processes, and reporting

What we’re looking for

• Fully qualified ACCA, ACA, or CIMA
• 2–3 years’ experience in management accounting
• Experience in a senior or supervisory role
• Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail
• Proficiency with financial systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel skills
• Confident communicator able to present financial information to non‑financial colleagues
• Highly organised, able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• A collaborative, professional approach and commitment to high standards
