Job summary

Knowsley College is seeking a Senior Library and Learning Resource Assistant to lead a team across multiple library sites, delivering high-quality services to students and staff. You will guide staff in using catalogues, databases and learning technologies while ensuring efficient operations and exceptional customer care.

You will work with the Library & Learning Resource Manager to shape services, promote learner engagement and maintain welcoming, safe learning environments.

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy library or learning resource centre.
• Experience handling wide range of customer enquiries and supporting service users.
• Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office and library/digital systems.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coach and support a team across multiple sites.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to students and staff.
• Support users in accessing catalogues, databases, and IT systems.
• Coordinate staff rotas and daily operations.
• Assist with inductions, study skills sessions and learner support.
• Support development of library collections and resources.
• Monitor library usage data and maintain records.
• Organise events and activities to enhance the student experience.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour, safety and security.
• Deputise for Library and Learning Resource Manager when required.
