The Heathland School is seeking a proactive Librarian to organise and manage the school library, ensuring accessibility for pupils and staff throughout the day. You will deliver lending services, promote reading, and support literacy across the curriculum, including Accelerated Reader and quiet study spaces.

You will supervise Sixth Form Independent Study, manage the library budget, and lead a team of pupil library assistants, contributing to a welcoming and learning-focused environment.

Qualifications

• GCSE passes in English and Maths or equivalent.
• Librarian qualification (NVQ or degree level).
• Further or ongoing training such as CILIP.

Responsabilités

• Organising and managing the library before, during and after school hours.
• Deliver an effective day-to-day lending service for pupils and staff.
• Promote reading and literacy and support school aims.
• Supervise Sixth Form Independent Study periods.
• Maintain overdue/book tracking and liaise with Finance for replacements.
