Job summary

Alder Community High School in Alder is seeking a Librarian to lead the school's library, promote reading for pleasure and support curriculum delivery across all year groups. You will coordinate reading interventions, maintain library records, and help create engaging activities that foster independent learning.

You will work with teaching staff and the SENCO to identify pupils' needs and track progress, ensuring an inclusive and inspiring learning environment for the whole school.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating and delivering reading interventions for pupils.
• Ability to promote reading for pleasure and support literacy development.
• Strong organisational and communication skills for a busy school library.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the school library and promote reading for pleasure.
• Coordinate and deliver evidence-based reading interventions to support literacy.
• Support curriculum delivery across subjects and year groups.
• Maintain accurate records of resources, loans and intervention outcomes.
• Create engaging library activities and events and liaise with SENCO.
