Job summary

Oasis Academy Watermead in Sheffield is seeking a Senior Learning Mentor to support pupils, families and staff in removing barriers to learning. You will coordinate nurture groups, breakfast clubs, and after-school activities, ensuring consistent delivery of the school's behaviour policy and data recording.

You will work closely with teachers, the SENCo and external agencies to set targets, develop individual action plans and provide 1:1 counselling.

Qualifications

• GCSEs A-C including English and maths.
• High-level vocational qualifications or degrees.
• Experience or interest in one-to-one student support.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with pupils, staff and parents.

Responsibilities

• Manage, set up and support nurture groups.
• Coordinate breakfast clubs and after-school activities.
• Support implementation of behaviour policy; administer rewards and sanctions.
• Maintain up-to-date records and databases for pupils and behaviour.
• Lead 1:1 counselling and group work such as anger management.
• Develop action plans and pastoral support plans with families and staff.
